Happy Tuesday

Happy Tuesday! And what a happy Tuesday indeed!
My mom called last night and said she will be coming in for a visit- tonight! My family was scheduled to come in to Lynchburg this weekend, but I begged my mom to come earlier, so we could get more projects accomplished. I want to paint some furniture, rearrange my living room, and spend some QFT (quality family time) with my mom. So… Mom is renting a car, driving to Lynchburg and will ride back to Gainesville with Dad and Rebekah on Sunday. I am so lucky to have her go out of her way so much to help me with my projects. What a great mom!

I also want to throw a shout out to my friend Lauren. I laughed yesterday when I realized that I have never explained Lauren’s situation, and thought that my readers may assume she’s a widow, an old woman or a child. Lauren is actually neither of these.

Lauren’s husband, Josh, is currently in medical school on the Island of Saba in the Caribbean. He left for the Caribbean in April, and Lauren will be joining him in August. In the meantime, Lauren has been staying busy here in Lynchburg by making jewelry, working on her blog and spending time with us Loewens.

I can’t imagine being without Dallas for this long, and I know that it hasn’t been easy for Lauren either. She will be visiting Josh for a week at the end of this month, and I can only imagine how much she is looking forward to seeing him again. Lauren has become such a great friend to me since I’ve moved to Lynchburg, and I am so thankful to have her. I feel that God put us in each other’s lives to be there for each other when we needed a friend the most. Lauren was there for me when I was sad and lonely, having just moved to a new state, and I am here now for Lauren while Josh is away.

I will miss Lauren like crazy when she moves to Saba, but I am thankful for the time that we have been able to spend together, and I am so thankful, for her sake, that she will be reunited with her husband.

So, if you think of it today, please keep Lauren and Josh in your prayers, as they are living apart from each other, and are looking forward to seeing each other again.

And remember...Have a Terrific Tuesday!

  1. AW girl, I'm all teared up! You have been such a GREAT friend. And certainly in the most needed times, like when I walked to the grocery store in the middle of a blizzard and lost my keys in the snow.. I knew you were a good friend when you and Dallas ventured out into the terrible weather to come pick me up!
